Unique and fun wedding venues are what many couples strive to have.

Rachel and Ron? They nailed it.

If your wedding ceremony and reception will not involve a live cheetah, it may not really be a unique wedding. Rachel and Ron did their wedding right–friends and family celebrated their union at the nothing-but-stunning San Diego Zoo Safari Park in San Diego, California.

While most weddings in San Diego take place on sandy beaches, Rachel and Ron turned the renowned tourist attraction into a romantic and unforgettable chapel. This infectiously fun couple exchanged vows inside the Safari Park. In between tear-jerking speeches and hilarious in-law stories, guests spotted giraffes and jungle cats roaming around behind the scenes. There was not one dull moment throughout the event–if the bride and groom weren’t dazzling their crowd, attendees could admire a wild animal on the prowl from a safe distance.

The reception was equally as jaw-dropping. Rustic, warm lights that hung from the reception room’s rafters created a glowing hue around the dance floor for the happy couple and their onlookers. The floor-to-ceiling windows that enclosed the reception room gave way to beautiful views of the park, adding to a uniquely romantic occasion.

Ron and Rachel were not only a blast to photograph, but their creativity in celebrating their marriage turned San Diego’s famous Safari Park into an amazing wedding venue. Did I mention the bit of rain that made the newlyweds and their venue glisten? This unique wedding was a game changer for future weddings in the San Diego area, and one that I can honestly say I had a lot of fun with.
